Fine Art Restoration of Mountain Paintings
Old Mountain Paintings in oil or watercolour generally suffer some form of deterioration over the years and often caused by the use of non-archival materials in the mount or wood in the frame. Some of this can be really quite severe and will show itself through brown spot ‘foxing’ and burns from pine wood backing boards. Dirt, dust and the atmosphere in which paintings are kept take their toll over the years, but the real enemy of watercolour is direct sunshine.
Here are some before/after images of Mountain Paintings that have been restored for me by Nick Seversway.
